Our Summer 2025 Tour
Scotland, Northern Ireland, The Republic Of Ireland And The Wild Atlantic Highway
Our 2025 trip started out by taking a few days to drive up to Cairnryan in Scotland, but a storm was due to blow in through northern England and Scotland so we decided to shelter in night in Morecambe where we parked up next to the sea wall right by the promenade. The town is nothing to shout home about but its ok, and whilst we were there we found another “time and tide” bell, there were lots of birds and a sculpture of the good old Eric Morecambe (A famous English Comedian).

Whilst hiding in Morecambe the storm had blown through so we drove up into Scotland through Dumfries to Stranraer stopping in Dumfries for the night. The following day we had a walk around town which is a lovely place, whilst there we visited the Robert Burns house museum and his mausoleum in the grounds of St Michael's Churchyard.

From Dumfries we drove over to Stranraer stopping for dinner in the lovely little village of Kirkcudbrigh. It has old ruins, cannons, tea shops and butchers selling lovely pies and at the time was preparing for some sort of festival, didn't know which one but there was a large wicker horse being prepared. Then following a quiet night a few miles out of Cairnryan we hopped on the ferry in the morning and made the 2 hour crossing to Larne in Northern Ireland.
